Facility
Established in 2005, St. Louis Life is a community-based, residential program
for young adults with developmental disabilities. Residents work and live in
the community and are allowed to make decisions that affect all aspects of
their lives. This independent living program offers single-bedroom apartments,
job placement/coaching, social, educational and recreational activities, and
many other support services.
Objective
St. Louis Life’s objective was to increase the protection for their residents
without intruding in their privacy. They were willing to take any steps
necessary but had a fear that the residents might feel uncomfortable with
changes. Their goal was to have a quick and easy way for residents to call for
help in the case of an emergency and a way they could monitor their residents as
a safety precaution.
Solution
St. Louis Life has partnered with Primary Systems to meet their objectives. Primary
Systems helped integrate a covert CCTV system that the administration could monitor
to ensure the safety of their residents. With the installation of cameras that
had the appearance of smoke detector’s St. Louis Life had the system they
needed while also keeping in mind the privacy of the residents. Primary Systems
was able to adapt and meet the needs of St. Louis Life with the integration of this
covert CCTV system.
Primary
Systems utilized System Technologies to implement an inexpensive feature with a
rich solution - A Wireless Emergency System. While traditional systems are
usually hard wired System Technologies leads the industry in developing,
manufacturing and marketing affordable wireless nurse call and emergency call
systems for healthcare and life safety applications. With the integration of
this wireless system St. Louis Life was able to have a quick and easy way for
residents to call for help in the case of an emergency.
