Objective
St. John’s Mercy is one of the largest
Catholic-sponsored health care facilities in the nation. With a total of 1,166
licensed beds, they are one of the largest Catholic-sponsored health care
complexes in the nation. St. John’s
was in need of a solution for bed management. They wanted the ability to
identify their exact bed count and occupancy level at any given time. It became
imperative to St. John’s
Mercy that all employees had knowledge of how many beds were available for
incoming and transferring patients. By accomplishing this St. John’s would help alleviate patient over
flow and ensure total patient care and satisfaction.
Solution
St. John’s
Mercy has partnered with Primary Systems to provide a census alert system. A custom
graphics program displays census information on 42” LCD screens in employee
lounges. This enables doctors and nurses to have knowledge of patient census
status at all times. To accomplish this task Primary Systems utilized Chyron
and its ChyTV’s system to customize a Census Alert System to fit St. John’s needs. ChyTV is
a High-Performance, Low-Cost Video Graphics System for Television Information
Displays and Digital Signage. Depending on the population of the beds, ChyTV
would correspond with a color that would indicate to doctors and nurses the
number of beds available. With the integration of the customized Census Alert
System it provided a total census solution for St. John’s Mercy.
